Soumaya Khilifi obtained her Ph.D. in Materials Science from Université de Rennes 1, France, in 2019, where she focused on creating luminescent hybrid nanomaterials with applications in light-imprinting and integrated photonics. She continued her research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institut Lavoisier de Versailles, investigating supramolecular interactions between inorganic clusters and organic components to develop innovative hybrid systems for applications in water treatment and stimuli-responsive materials. Her current research under a fellowship aims to design bio-inspired, stimuli-responsive smart materials by integrating smart crystals with polymeric matrices. This work targets applications in soft robotics, biomedicine, and gas capture, with the goal of developing a new generation of adaptable, high-performance materials.
