Founded in 2009 on the eastern shores of the Red Sea, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is officially recognised as the most acclaimed postgraduate research university in the Middle East. The KAUST Global Fellowship identifies exceptional early-career scientists with the independence, ambition and ideas to address the world's most pressing global challenges in Water, Food, Energy, Health, AI, and Marine Science (with focus on the Red Sea).

A KAUST host PI with similar research interests will mentor, empower and support you to successfully conduct your independent research.
As a Global Fellow you will design and lead your own original research at KAUST, advancing knowledge, opening new pathways for innovation, and contributing to the KAUST research missions.
Direct access to multidisciplinary laboratories located on campus equipped with cutting-edge technologies and staffed with experts to support faculty, students, researchers, and partners.

New perspectives, new discoveries
The KAUST Global Fellowship Program is an immersive, three-year experience that provides emerging scientific and engineering leaders the funding, knowledge, network, facilities and lab access, and community they need at the early stages of their independent research careers. The Fellowship is offering, access to up to 45,000$ of independent research funding, competitive annual stipend, and benefits, as well as professional development and mentoring programs.
We are seeking scientists and engineers active across the five Research Pillars of KAUST: Water, Environment, Food & Health, Energy, and the Digital domain. Most importantly, we are looking for ambitious scientific and technological changemakers with groundbreaking research ideas aiming to explore and find solutions to global challenges and contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
